CINÉ-CLUB #Hors série

CINÉ-CLUB #Hors série

I am delighted to be able to present this Fashion in Film series at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech. It is presented in conjunction with my exhibition, Yves Saint Laurent: The Hamish Bowles Collection, which tells the story of Yves’s career in design for the first time in this museum, through fifty years of his work—from the instant when he was unexpectedly thrust into the limelight at Christian Dior aged 21, to his modern and vivid SAINT LAURENT rive gauche revolution, to his elegiac moments with the couture, right up to the 1990s. In choosing these films I have considered how they are capable, through the work of the supremely gifted costume designers, of bringing the directors’ fantasies to life, of translating their ultimate visions. — Hamish Bowles
